About Me

My passion is for equipping disciple-forming communities.

The fullness of the Gospel takes root and blooms in relationships. I want to help people connect to God, to each other, to the larger church, and to the culture. I want to help them find meaning, joy, and freedom. I want to help create a place that nurtures people’s best selves, where they can be their best and give their best. And I want to equip (new) leaders and nurture disciples.

I’m also committed to being creative with creative people. Creativity springs forth in art, music, the creation and nurture of family, and in everything. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is creative – it imagines a new reality and a new future, and it creates that future, calling forth life.

Congregation

I’ve been pastor at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in the beautiful, intermountain setting of Pocatello, Idaho since January 2001.

I love to play tennis, slowpitch softball, and anything that draws out my friendly, competitive streak.

I love to dabble with guitar, piano, drums, and sing.

I love (group) creativity – music – comedy – writing - (graphic) design – internet – pop culture – podcasts – watching NFL football (especially the Vikings).

I’m committed to new ways of thinking and being, and to taking creative risks.

I’m partial to proper punctuation, especially when it comes to apostrophes.

Kristine and I have been profoundly influenced by and have found wonderful partnership with 3D Ministries.
